Dogs, Dogs, Dogs
From the intelligent German Shepherd to the popular Poodle, there is a dog breed and personality to suit every person on the planet. Of course that’s not to say that a purebred dog makes any better family pet than a Heinz 57 variety mixed-up pup.
The question of what is the best dog breed comes up all the time. Some people grew up with a particular kind of dog. They know and understand that breed very well and simply can’t imagine themselves with any other dog; a shepherd say or a terrier. Others may have practical reasons to want a specific breed ; maybe the calm temperament of a Golden Retriever is needed for seeing eye work or the keen nose of a hound is wanted for a search and rescue team.
All the same, you will find many mongrels and mixed breeds used as therapy dogs. They can make fine, even-tempered family pets and mongrels often escape some of the genetic diseases that have been introduced to purebreds through poor breeding practices.
